Explore Providence By Boat!
I brought my mother and her husband, both in their 80’s, on a beautiful July day. We all loved it. The perspective of the city from the boat is amazing, and the captain was very knowledgeable about the history of Providence. And being able to have lunch at the Hot Club topped it all off. Highly recommended.
Went for our first evening on a short business trip in mid October. Many boat rides had already shut down for the season, it appears. There were two couples in our party, and we were the only ones on the boat. It was very informative and relaxing, the captain really new his history of the area. It is a pontoon boat ride that doesn’t cost you a fortune. Would definitely recommend to others.
The tour itself was very informative and well worth the very reasonable fee. In addition to the beautiful scenery and totally relaxing nature of the tour, Captain Tom was extremely knowledgeable of Providence area history and he pointed out interesting sites and historical points along the way. Although we are not from the area, I can see why other reviewers on TripAdvisor suggest that locals would also enjoy this tour. It’s an experience definitely worth repeating, and I would love to return and take the cruise during one of the Water Fire events (which would be truly amazing to see!) Take the time and reserve a tour with Providence River Boat Company. Captain Tom will not disappoint!!
This excursion was a wonderful way to view the WaterFire. Kristin was so helpful in advising us about all aspects of the trip including parking. The staff was well-organized and friendly. The pontoon boat was easy to access and comfortable. We enjoyed our excursion and would recommend this to others.
We celebrated my son’s bar mitzvah at the Providence Downtown Marriott. His bar mitzvah happened to land on a waterfire night so we decided to rent a couple of boats for our guests. It was an amazing experience! Gliding down the river, through the cauldrons, was so peaceful. The boats are spacious and we were able to bring our own refreshments. An incredible way to experience waterfire - away from the crowds and on the water. I can’t recommend it enough!
We were fourteen ladies ranging in age from 50 to 75+ and we were ALL captivated by our professional, knowledgeable, friendly and courteous Captain Tom and his shipmate. Even though we are lifelong Rhode Islanders, we still learned new facts about our Capital City. Seeing the skyline through the river view prospective was a memorable experience we will not soon forget. We booked months in advance only to get rained out. But thanks to the great efforts of Kristin, the GM, we were able to get re-booked ASAP. It was voted unanimously to make this our annual August Hoot. Thanks to all of you at The Providence Riverboat Tours for a fun night out.
Our grandchildren had a wonderful time with Frosty the Snowman in a comfortable boat on the Providence River. Our Captain was informative and very kid-friendly. Best of all was the uninvited guest-a dolphin- who performed some leaping feats both fore and aft as we sailed along. Nothing like or more gratifying than a boat of enchanted children!
I had made reservations for 10 people to go out for a bachelorette party. We started our night with the Waterfire boat tour...then went to a restaurant that was with in walking distance from where we had got on the boat. We weren’t looking for a wild and crazy night...but something memorable and special....and that’s what we got. We booked the 1st boat ride of the night that left at 7:45pm, we were on the boat by 7:30pm and saw the whole lighting procession of the fires right on the water. Everyone in the party loved the ride, especially the bride to be. The sights and the procession, it was exceptional! We BYOB’d and had a few cocktails and snacks on the boat as we went up and down the river. It was really awesome. I will be booking again!!!! I also have to add that the staff is really great. I spoke with Kristin while booking, she is a sweetheart! The crew is really great too. The boat ride was very relaxing and special...just what we wanted!!!
We were so blessed to experience the sunset boat tour on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon. It was easy to book, cost efficient and very informational. Overall great experience!
Our WaterFire cruise was excellent. We had guests from Northern Europe who said that they had never before experienced anything as delightful as our cruise. The cruise was the third time this summer that we have taken guests on their WaterFire boat ride. We recommend it without any hesitation. Book early. They are in great demand.
